What if you only had what you’re grateful for

Reading other people’s gratitudes is an important habit to cultivate to build a world class mindset. To support people with this practice, I send a weekday email that has 6 gratitudes—3 from me and 3 from a guest and each week we have a different guest.

One of our recent guests, Laura Vaughan, shared an idea that stopped me in my tracks:

"What if you woke up tomorrow with only the things you thanked God for today ?"

And the question is valid, whether you believe in God or not.

So here’s the thing, as far as your brain is concerned, not being grateful for what you have results in the same mindset and behaviours as if you don’t have it. This is how complacency and entitlement creep into organizations and people’s lives. Be cautious in thinking you’re immune to it happening to you.
