I'm gonna wave and say "hi"

I’ve been noticing on my last couple runs and walks around the city that not everyone acknowledges your presence when we pass each other. While I understand everyone has different comfort levels and are dealing with their own challenges, it seems like people are interpreting social distancing as social ignoring.

So here’s what I’m doing (and I already started doing it as I finished my run yesterday), I’m waving and saying “hi” to every person I pass. I don’t care if I’m running or walking or cycling or driving - I’m gonna wave and say hi. I don’t care if you see me or not, I’m gonna wave and say “hi”. I don’t care if you’re driving, or walking or running or shopping or wearing headphones, I’m gonna wave and say “hi”.

I ask only one favour, please do the same.

And one more thing - I'll give you the benefit of the doubt if you forget and please do the same for me !
